Plain-language summary
This policy explains how DailyMind, also presented in Brazil as Diária Mente and in Spanish as DiariaMente, handles data and protects the privacy of people using the app.
Our principle is simple: an emotional journal should be a place of care, not a source of commercial exploitation. The app is designed to work with as little data as possible and with real control in the user’s hands.
What personal data do we collect?
Our rule is to collect as little as possible. DailyMind was not designed to capture unnecessary personal data, track your routine outside the app, or create commercial profiles.
The only personal data we may directly store is your email address, and only when you choose to create an account, sign in socially, or enable account-based synchronization/backup.
| Data type | Do we use it? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Yes, when you create or connect an account | To enable login, account recovery, synchronization, and account identification for secure deletion. | |
| Full name, tax ID, address, or phone number | No | We do not request this data for normal app use. |
| Emotional records and journal notes | Controlled by the user | To show history, calendar, charts, reports, and self-care features within the app. |
| Behavioral advertising data | No | We do not sell or share your entries for behavioral targeting. |
About what you record in the journal
The app lets you record emotions, daily comments, activities, medications, crises, symptoms, gratitude, and other personal information that may be intimate and sensitive. These records receive special care.
By default, DailyMind follows an offline-first approach: your entries are stored on your device so the app keeps working even without internet. When you choose to use account, synchronization, or cloud backup features, data may be securely synced so it can be restored and accessed through your account.
These records are not analyzed by us for commercial purposes, are not shared with advertisers, and are not used to sell third-party products. They exist so you can observe yourself, notice patterns, and, if you wish, bring organized information to a trusted professional.
Why do we use email?
Email is used only when you choose to have an account. It helps us:
- identify your account securely;
- enable login and account recovery;
- link backup or synchronization to your data;
- process account deletion and removal of associated data.
If you use the app as a guest without creating an account, email is not required. In that case, entries remain limited to the device unless you manually export a backup file.
How we protect your data
We take privacy seriously because an emotional journal may contain deeply personal information. Entries are stored securely, with appropriate technical protection and encryption where applicable to local storage and synchronization.
The app also offers features that help you strengthen protection:
- offline-first operation, reducing dependence on servers;
- optional lock with biometrics or device password;
- local export and import for backups under your control;
- account deletion and removal of associated data;
- remote access limited to the authenticated account owner.
Account deletion and data removal
You control your data. If you choose to delete your account inside the app, DailyMind starts removing data associated with your account, including records linked to remote backup/synchronization.
After confirmation, account-associated data is immediately removed from our active systems. You can also clear local data from the device, preserving only essential technical preferences when necessary, such as language and theme.
If you manually exported backup files, those files are outside the app’s control. To fully remove an exported copy, you must also delete the file from wherever you saved it, such as your phone, cloud storage, email, or messaging apps.
Your privacy rights
You may request information about data processing, correction, deletion, portability, withdrawal of consent, and clarification about this policy according to applicable privacy laws.
In practice, the app itself already provides ways to export, import, clear local data, and delete your account. If you still need help, contact us using the email on this page.
Information sharing
We do not sell or rent your data. We also do not share journal entries with advertisers, marketing companies, or third parties interested in creating commercial profiles about your emotional health.
Technical authentication, synchronization, or infrastructure services may be used only to operate features you choose, such as login, backup, and restoration. Whenever possible, we limit this use to what is strictly necessary.
Children and teenagers
DailyMind is a self-care and emotional organization app. If used by minors, we recommend guidance and supervision from legal guardians, especially because it may involve records about feelings, mental health, routine, and well-being.
We do not seek to collect children’s or teenagers’ personal data for commercial purposes, nor do we direct advertising based on intimate journal entries.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect improvements to the app, legal changes, or security adjustments. When a relevant change occurs, the update date will be changed and, when necessary, we will notify users inside the app or through another appropriate channel.
